About the Market
The Memphis Farmers Market is a weekly, seasonal non-profit outdoor market featuring local farmers, artisans and prepared foods vendors. We showcase locally grown and produced foods and locally produced artisan goods from the Tri-State area of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. In certain cases, products from outside the Tri-State area that offer uniqueness and diversity to our shoppers are also sold. MFM rules prohibit buying produce or crafts from any source to be sold at the market. All product offerings are to be grown or made by the vendor represented at the market.
MFM is a not-for-profit organization created by a group of local volunteers and run by a volunteer board composed of people passionate about local food, small farms, and making a connection between consumers and local producers.

The MFM Board sets vendor fees, hours of operation and market policies, and is responsible for the fiscal health of the MFM. The board, along with our vendors, volunteers and market director, work together to insure the continued success of the Memphis Farmers Market by creating a fun and educational filled, family atmosphere and community gathering spot during the market season.
The market is financially supported by:
- Vendor fees
- Fund raisers such as the annual Harvest Celebration and Silent Auction, which vendors are encouraged to both contribute to and attend
- Chef's "Farm to Fork" Tours at local restaurants, which we encourage vendors to participate in if possible
- Grants, direct contributions from sponsors, and Friends of MFM memberships
- Sales of MFM related merchandise
Vendor Marketing
We strive to help our vendors promote their business and the benefits of buying local. As an MFM vendor, you'll receive a vendor profile in our list of vendors that includes your products available, times at the market and contact information. We also feature vendors every week on our homepage and in our weekly email newsletter. And we encourage vendors to join our Memphis Farmers Market Facebook community to post notes to our MFM fans about products you offer or weeks you'll be at the market.
